rest

  1. Love this. Our Christian culture here in Lewis still holds the Lord's Day very precious, though there are changes afoot. I feel sad that many Christians don't take the Lord's Day as a day of rest and of keeping holy for the Lord (not that we don't fail every Lord's Day, but it's our heart's desire) x

  2. Anne, this is something we're trying to practice - just getting started. If find it interesting that a gift God gives us, a day of rest, can be such a challenge of faith and trust that things won't fall apart if we take a one-day break. I don't want to be legalistic about it, but I do want to keep a check on my heart. I just read this morning in Exodus God telling them to observe the sabbath even in harvest and plowing time ... and the penalty in the OT for not observing the sabbath is death. Seems God's serious about this one! :)
